In the prompter, the keys work the same as a presentation clicker: most clickers send the arrow and Page keys.
Write
Start a line with # for a section heading (## for a smaller one), or use the heading tool at the top of the rail. Put **bold** and *italic* around words to stress while you read (or the B and I tools).
Cue marks
Cue marks are in square brackets. The prompter shows them and never reads them aloud. [PAUSE] holds the text for a moment, [PAUSE 3s] holds it for three seconds, and [SLIDE 2] or [CLICK] reminds you to change a slide. [NOTE: anything] is a note to yourself.
Time
The estimate counts your words at the pace in the Inspector (145 words a minute to start), plus each pause. Change the pace and every time updates at once. Headings are not counted, because they are titles, not speech.
Check
The Inspector's Script check tab looks the script over as you write: sentences too long for one breath, cue marks with a typo such as [PASUE], bold or italic left open, a missing ], doubled words, and sections much longer than the rest. Select one to go to it; some have a Fix button. Ctrl+F finds and replaces.
Sections
The timeline under the script has a block for each section, as wide as its time, so the long ones stand out. The block your cursor is in is highlighted, with a bar for how far in you are. Click a block to go there. Drag it to move it (with a finger, by its dotted grip), or use Alt+Left and Alt+Right. Right-click (or long-press) a block for its menu.
Prompt
Press Ctrl+P or the Prompt button. The prompter starts a countdown, then the text moves up to the reading line. Lines you have read are dimmed, and the bar at the bottom shows the section you are in. The prompter remembers where you stopped, and keeps the screen awake while it is open.
Change things while prompting
The sliders button opens the Inspector beside the text, with the same sections. + and - change the text size, F switches full screen, and a right-click or long-press on the text opens a menu.
TELEDTR is a teleprompter for the EDTR suite. Write a script, time it, and read it full screen while you record.
Private by design. Your script never leaves this device. There are no uploads, accounts or analytics, and the page's security policy blocks it from sending data anywhere.
Files. Save writes a .teledtr file. Open reads one, or a plain text or Markdown file; you can also drop one anywhere on TELEDTR. Installed as an app, TELEDTR opens .teledtr files from your desktop.
Your settings (text size, pace, colors, mirror) and which Inspector sections are open are remembered in this browser only.
